United Way of Alexander County
Our mission is to improve people's lives in the areas of EDUCATION, FINANCIAL STABILITY and HEALTH.

United Way of Alexander County is a non-profit organization that assists local entities including Alexander County 4-H, Alexander County Partnership For Children, Alexander County Family YMCA, Alexander Rescue Squad, Alexander County Department of Social Services, Mobile 957 Cafe' and The Bridge Community.
Education and specifically literacy for children are main goals of United Way, with a focus on helping children foster a love of reading. Other goals include helping people achieve better health and financial stability.

We have a community that jumps in when there’s a big problem. We would like to tap into that on an ongoing basis. We hope the crucial work of United Way organizations in Alexander County can be supported with donations in this year’s giving campaign - which has a goal of $50,000 - and beyond. United Way of Alexander County works to help local families become income stable, live healthy lives and help children graduate from high school prepared for a career or college. We are regaining momentum in 2022!

United Way of Alexander County is seeking to re-energize its volunteer base and increase local charitable donations in the year 2022.
Our Board Members are Shelly Sebastian - President, Kathy Riddle - Vice President, Michelle Hartness - Treasurer, Ashli Elder - Secretary, Cheryl Millsaps, Dr. Jennifer Hefner, Gary Herman and Brenda Jones. Our Board Members are volunteers and are not paid for their service.

Your Donations Help United Way Agencies Here in Alexander County

A little bit here and there adds up and the United way hopes to expand the number of people who contribute. There are several easy ways that you can help.

Payroll Deduction

Payroll deduction, which is already offered at local employers like Schneider Mills and Shurtape. If your employer participates with United Way, talk to your CEO or Human Resources department and ask how to make a contribution. If your company does not participate with United Way, you may ask your company leaders to consider an employee United Way campaign.

Donate Online

You may donate using a variety of apps such as Givelify, CashApp and PayPal.

Volunteer

Volunteer. Like all non-profit organizations, volunteers are such great assets.

Gifts in Kind

Gifts in kind are very important to United Way of Alexander County to receive donations that will help to reduce costs of everyday operations. United Way has received donated office furniture such as: conference table, office chairs, office desk, bookcases, and bookkeeping software.
